Working draft for advocate review
Cookie and Data Notice
A short explanation of browser storage, necessary authentication technology, service-worker caching and third-party content used by the site.

Technology currently used
The site may use cookies or comparable browser storage for:
- authentication, session continuity, access control and security in the signed-in workspace;
- remembering that the visitor acknowledged the Bar Council Rule 36 notice;
- remembering selected workspace preferences on the device; and
- service-worker caches that help static assets or previously visited pages load reliably.
These items support requested functionality. The current website does not intentionally deploy marketing cookies or behavioural advertising trackers.
Proactive Chambers Guide suggestions are optional and remain off until a signed-in user enables them. When enabled, they use temporary, allowlisted product-status clues held only in local browser memory. The Guide does not retain typed questions, client or matter content, or behavioural telemetry for these suggestions.
Third-party content
The contact page includes an embedded Google Map. Loading that frame sends technical information to Google and may allow Google to read or set cookies under its own policies. External social, court or provider links are governed by the destination service when you open them.
Authentication and other configured service providers may also use strictly necessary cookies to sign a user in, prevent abuse and maintain a secure session. Their own notices explain provider-controlled processing.
Your controls
You can remove or block cookies, local storage and cached site data through your browser or device settings. You can also use browser controls for third-party cookies. Blocking necessary storage may cause the Rule 36 notice to reappear, sign you out, remove preferences or prevent parts of the workspace from functioning.
The service-worker cache can be cleared through the browser's site-data or storage settings. Signing out does not always remove local preferences or cached static files from the device.
Consent and updates
Because the current site uses browser storage mainly for requested, necessary or security-related functions and does not intentionally use behavioural advertising trackers, it provides this notice instead of an advertising-cookie preference panel. If optional analytics or marketing technology is introduced, this notice and the available choice mechanism should be reviewed before deployment.
